Back again 7-5-08

Yesterday I woke up and decided to go for a walk/jog. I have started again, this time I am smoke free. I would love to walk/jog at least 4 days a week, 15 minutes at a time and end with a 5 minute stretch. I am going to watch my portions and choose healthier meals. I want to cut out the fast food. This is going to be the hardest part. I think cutting down to once a week is a challange that I can handle without to much resistance from hubby. Today is my DD 3rd birthday, if I can just deny the cake I am making, I will be doing good. Here we go!

Mini Goal

YEAH!! I made my mini goal. I am so happy. I have lowered my ultimate goal weight. I just feel like with the support I have recieved along with a healthier lifestyle and possitive attitude I can do what I once thought of as impossible. THANK YOU ALL, for the support. I appreciate my life so much more than I did 20 lbs ago. Anything is possible. And I think it is so important to get massages. I have worked hard at getting over the self-consciousness that I felt about my body while reducing stress and toxins. I suggest getting regular massages to anyone who is really having negative feelings about there wobbly bits :)

I am really happy today. I weighed in last night and I have lost a few pounds. My husband watched as I tryed on jeans that were uncomfortably tight a few months ago, and I slid right into them. I even tried on things that my best girlfriend handed me down as she has been losing weight due to life style changes and a lap band. The things she gave me I could not get into at all, before. Now I am able to wear them around the house if I choose and soon I believe I will be able to be comfortable wearing them out and about. I feel amazing. Here I am half way to my mini goal, and I am inspired. Thank you for holding me accountable. Thank you for sharing your highs and lows. I have been on both ends of the spectrum now, and I am thankful for it all.

PCOS

I have been overweight since about 1998. I was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome in 1999. The syndrome has many side affects including Insulin Resistance, which I am learning has a great deal to do with how your body metabolizes sugar. I am looking to find a healthy way of eating that does not involve only eating animals. I am interested in learning as much as possible about diabetes and insulin resistance. Idealisticly, I am working twards being a vegetarian. So if your reading this and you have info to share, please do. Anyway, I am working on my portion sizes, I love food way too much. This blog will mostly be a way for me to hold myself accountable in front of you. Thanks for any feedback. God willing I will be a healthier wife and mother soon.

While on Vacation

This past weekend we were on vacation. While driving husband and I decided to make this diet a family affair. He is really fit and runs 3 miles a day on average, but eats junk. His favs are hamburgers, italian and mexican foods(american style=too much cheese). I talked him into giving my style(turkey instead of beef) a chance and he already called me from work this AM to discuss what he can not have. We decieded to make it fun and the one who sticks to the plan gets $200 at the end of the month and each week the one who does the plan the best gets to decide what activities the family does the following week. So, if I win we will be going to the Zoo and the parks more offten and if he wins I imagine he will want to go to a game or something like that. This really helps me to keep my focus.
